Digital is everywhere today, and very much so in wedding photography. However, as the bride, you should not be too concerned about this subject. Focus on the quality of the images, let the photographer worry about how he presents them to you.
I shoot mostly with Canon professional digital cameras, but also use Canon film cameras as backup and Bronica professional medium format film cameras for some portraiture. Although digital cameras have come a long way, it is my opinion that medium format film cameras still produce the best quality wall size portrait prints. If you do not need large prints (larger than 11x14), my opinion is to go with digital. If you'd like large (16x20 or larger) wall portraits, I recommend medium format film. Other photographers may have a different opinion. Remember, it's an art, and every artist has his/her way of presenting their handiwork.
